HELP! WE NEED A SOUND MAN (or woman)!

We need someone to help out us on a regular basis to do our sound at gigs.... a 5th Monkey!. No experience required (we'll show you how to use the desk & PA). So if you think you have a good ear for music and can make the majority of our gigs & the odd rehearsal, then drop us a line or catch us at a gig. There will be 'a couple of bob' in it for you too!

Feedback:

A small selection of some of the nicer things people say about us:

We saw you guys at Steves 50th at the Coach and Horses, top class band guys... I haven't pogo'd for 25+ years, I'm looking now at ur gig dates to see you perform again... quality! p.s. I've never seen my wife dance to Pretty Vacant... PMSL!!

Just saying thanks for another great night in Lancashire we loved seeing you again and can’t wait until Easter! I have attached a pic of you in full swing – thought you might like it. We had the best wedding ever thanks to you guys
Andi and Eric Tomlinson x

Absolutely ace tonight! That's all that needs to be said. Cheers.

Hey Guys
Really wanted to thank you for the best night ever! All our friends were rocking to the beat all night as you know... You were completely amazing and we are thrilled you were able to come to Lancs and make our wedding party so perfect! I am however unable to walk due to excessive pogo-ing in my wedding dress but was well worth the pain ha ha x loved the “special” tune at the end and appreciate your efforts to provide us with a bit of kitsch – thank you so very much guys x. I reckon we will be seeing you soon in Lancs listening to my pals requests for your details so hope to see you again soon!

Andi and Eric Tomlinson x

Hi Guys! Thanks for another great gig, considering it wasn't advertised it was a good turn out and a full dance floor! Snow Patrol was a real bonus, absolutely loved it - thanx. Wish could have made the Roebuck too, but bizarrely heard you whilst walking the dog! X
Helen

Hell of a band!!!
Joel

Hi guys, thanks for a top night at Chris' party !!! Had so many people saying how good you guys were, and how cool our taste in music was giving you such a strict play list !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You even had our Keira happy going to sleep hugging the cheeky monkey mascot ! See you soon
Love Chris, Nic, Matt & Jas xxx

Cheeky Monkey rewrote the rule book of rock at Helen’s 40th birthday party bash at the Private Club in Castle on Saturday night (4 July), they left no stone unturned in their search for rhythmic satisfaction. The band was joined by talented guest star “Hunky Monkey” Steve Dunn who wowed the crowd with his pleasing licks. A surprising interlude was a performance by Matthew “Vanilla Ice” Berrisford which completed a storming night of perfect entertainment before the crowd dissolved in a pool of sweat!!!.
Roland, the Devonian contingent

Many many thanks for a brilliant night on Saturday at Castle Private. EVERYONE had a fantastic time, as I'm sure you could tell by the sweat factor in the room. Thanks for getting Steve back into his guitar playing - he's had a great time being a pretend monkey! Look forward to seeing you all play again soon.
Lots of love, Helen

Cheeky Monkey Excellent night and excellent performance. My wife can be very critical but she said you were great !!! Will defo come and see you again.

Hey Chunky, Punky, Spunky & Drunky
What a weird heady concoction you guys make - but you know...it works, and pretty damn good at that!! Full marks for originality... Wicked sound, if not slightly deafenin' but hey... great night! Cheers boyz.
Lois & Helen xx

Dear guys, your latest gig at the coachman 28.2.09 I reckon was your best there, even better than Christmas ... and that takes some beating! The place was rocking & the atmosphere was electric. I thought your version of Londons Calling was better than the original! Keep it up.

I'm surprised the Coachman is still standing after Saturday night……the place was rocking. Best Gig you have played and ably supported by a FANTASTIC crowd.
The SADman

Just to say a perhaps belated thanks for the gigs you've done (so many of them free). Great entertainment, almost as entertaining as my "Madness" dancing. Long time since I heard Zeppelin in a pub and I've never heard that alongside the Buzzcocks, the Scissor Sisters and the Osmonds ("Crazy Horses" ...well, more like the Alex Harvey [God] version actually) - Brilliant - keep up the good work!
Brian Moss

Hi do you do a cd with your music on, if so how much?
Really enjoyed last night at Rudheath Club, absolutely brilliant, keep rollin'.

Julie Bloxhall

I was at Tracy and Matt's wedding on Saturday and man you made my feet hurt. Every song that you did made me want to stay on the dance floor and rock out. You are an amazing band and now i'm just living in hope that you will play somewhere closer to where I live. Come and venture up to the Manchester area. All thats left to say is many thanks to Matt's best man for suggesting you.
Georgina

Cool band. I haven't heard anyone else play some of the tunes you play and it makes a refreshing change. You also played some Jam tunes and some Buzzcocks which made my night..... Cheers!
Dave Todd

When I walked in to the pub I thought the Kaisers Chiefs were playing live! The next thing it was Tenpole Tudor, the Sex Pistols and the Jam. I haven't done 'the pogo' for years and now my hips are aching like mad! It was well worth it though, this is the best pub band I have heard for a long long time. Awesome!
Anonymous bloke

Well, I have to say I was impressed with Cheeky Monkey, and enjoyed the evening. The Coachman has a light side! I told some other guys along from the Slow 'n Easy jamnight, they are musicians, and they were impressed. Please keep it going, I'm sure it is difficult to have a day job and keep your repertoire high, but believe me you gave a lot of people a lot of pleasure.
Phil Stoor

Chris Dryhurst
Oh didn't Cheeky Monkey make those Scooter Boys party... top night and the best performance so far. Even 'Vertigo' sounded really good, so I admit you were right to persevere.
The SADman
At the express recommendation of our Best-Man-to-be we came along to the Cheshire Cheese on Saturday to see Cheeky Monkey play. We had a really good night on Saturday, danced the night away, and felt that although probably not a 'traditional wedding band' our guests would hopefully enjoy and appreciate your music as much as we did (with the exception of the odd Aunty or Uncle that have stayed out past their bedtime).
Tracy & Matt

Wow!!! What a nite!!!
Chris & Nic

Huge thanks to Dave, Simon, Nick and Simon for the wonderful 18th birthday party gig ‘somewhere in Essex!’ (Hornchurch). Really appreciated you travelling so far south…a good time had by all…THANK YOU xxx
Anne Martin
